this isn't unheard of. Having worked in the Orange warehouse scanning phones all day registering phones I think I know where the problem has happened. (sorry to be a nerd here!)

I expect in the past someone has had a phone and broken it. they have sent it back to T mobile for an exchange. T mobile havent deleted the old serial number off of the system and then the person re registering your serial number hasnt done the full checks like they should have done. (I wouldn't blame them as SAP the computer system they use is rubbish)

So although it is a new phone you have your serial number for the phone will have been recycled.

There you are, you can tell em what they have done wrong now!!!
