I was considering doing a body lift.
Mainly for tyres and regaining some of the ground clearance under the sills after the rock sliders.

Jon Boy,

I've done a body lift on my 200 Disco.

I've raised the body by 1.5". On the 200 there are ten mounting bolts (five-a-side - just like football). In addition, there are three/four body to chasis mounting places.

I fitted 1.5" steel spacers with longer nuts & bolts. Due to the additional length of the bolts, you have to mount some "up-side down" because you can't push them through the same way that they came out!!

For the body resting places, I used 3" x 2" x 3" hard wood blocks between the existing anti-vib mounts.

The lift took about 6-hours on a ramp. It easier on a ramp as you can undo all the bolts, hold the body up and drop the wheels, axles, etc, etc.

Points to note: radiator needs lowering, oil resovoirs require lowering, fuel tank filler point needs extending, brake hoses need lengthening, headlights need adjusting, gear stick and high/low sticks need extending & bending. These bits took two-days.

Good luck................

Chris

ps: if your out on a mud do, you can have a look..........
