Dyna Beads

garybrun:
Ive been reading about Dyna Beads for balancing tyres.
Could you not use the BB pellets used in softguns... these are a lot cheaper??

Range Rover Blues:
I don't understand how having a load of beads loose inside the tyre works anyway :-.

garybrun:
Take a look at http://www.scorpion-racing.co.uk and they explain how they work.

EvilEd:
That assumes that the tyre stays completely round, but with a bounce you'll get the tyre deforming in the direction of the heavy spot and they would collect in the deformity surely ? Plus you get a deformity at the bottom of the tyre where it contacts the road as well.

Has anyone ACTUALLY used something like this, personally like?

I know in the US they do a "Balancing Ring" that sits on the hub inside the wheel for this sort of thing too, so I assume it works, but I would also worry about the wear on the inside of the tyre (like polishing stones) with this method.

And no, I don't think gun pellets would work, they are too soft, a lot is made of the ceramic qualities that they don't wear much and keep their shape, gun pellets would rub and create a lot of heat and possibly melt together inside the tyre I think.

I didnt mean gun pellets as the sort your explaining.  My son has a BB AK47 that uses ceramic pellets.
