Replacing door springs
Mr Alford:
has anyone attempted this job at all? or seen the springs for sale on ebay, i was told this was an easy job and shud take a wee while to fit
any thing you hear about that is a lie!!!
i had to take the best prt of the door apart prob about 2 and a half hours it took me the other one will take less time as i know how to do it
heres some pics

I did this job on my 200Tdi what a bitch of a job!!.I ended up with more scratches and bruises on my arms and hands .And they were in those niggling places that hurt like hell.

Just what I need, encouragement since my dirver's door spring is broke and it takes between three and four goes to open the damn thing.
Most people I've spoken to seem to think its an "easy" job to do as well.
Not so huh!
Why does the mud always smell like dung???

In theory the job IS easy... the trouble is... none of the paperwork tells us the magical manoeuvres required to get the door lock out and then in.
It's possibly one of the secrets of the masonic lodge.. along with the handshake!
(Apologies to any masons out there... I know the all seeing eye is upon me and I wouldn't want to upset it... or you...!)

tbh if you follow what ive done in the pictures i rekon it would take u an hour the reason i took so long was because the diagram that came with the springs was as useful as an underwater hair dryer
