be warned !! rip off engine remanufacturer V8 DEVELOPMENTS (LINCOLNSHIRE)
Guardian.:
just want to warn you all that V8 DEVELOPMENTS in lincolnshire are not interested in replacing / repairing a new engine they built for our 110,
it was never right from day 1, and now its gone bang they are not interested, so a couple of grand later i have a knackered engine thats done a couple of months work at the most.
im not one for messing around with legal issues, so will just leave it for now!
but just be warned i have heard nothing but bad news about them since i bought ours from there, lots of people with knackered remanufacturedengines that never run right. why do you always hear this after youve handed over your cash.
i will post there full address later and his name so there is no confusion with anyone else, who does a good job.
robert francis:

I would get a solicitor involved, even if you only get some of the money back. Sorry to hear you news.
madmatt:
I'd start legal proceedings, he'll just carry on ripping people off otherwise

Sorry to hear of your situation but please don't leave it - you've paid for something that you haven't received why should you be out of pocket. As a trader yourself I'm sure you try and sort out any issues your customers may have and should be treated with the same respect yourself.
It may not be necessary to pay a solicitor as you can get free advice from consumer direct http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ they may even help draft letters for you. Consumer direct are linked to Trading Standards and if enough complaints are made they may get interested in taking enforcement action, can't guarantee anything will happen but if you do nothing neither can they.
Another way to get your money back is via the small claims court http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm, costs about £80 to start the process but the use of lawyers is not encouraged which keeps costs down.
You don't have to do anything but I would suggest you contact consumer direct and see what advice you are given.
