Series 3 ffr jack?

(1/2) > >>

Laughing Potato:
I know this may seem a basic question, but please bear with me

I need to get hold of a jack for my series 3 FFR. I was looking at one of those farm jacks, but from what I can tell this would not suit my vehicle. Whtas the best suited jack to get hold of and where please.

Yes, I am very new to this

Range Rover Blues:
A bit stuck without pictures but IIRC you might have some round holes in your rear crossmember?  if so then these should fit the Hi-Lift jacking adapter.  IIRC I've seen them on the back of 90s but I can't remeber the series.

If not then the Hi-Lift on it's own could be used directly under the rear crossmember and the front bumper, but under the sides you would need some rock sliders fitting first.

My advice would be buy a genuine Hi-Lift becasue the accesories are better )more of them) and the jack takes apart into more manageble peices.

Pete:
Try army surplus for an original jack. Failing that a bottle jack of the type suplied with any Landie shpuld do the job.
Lifting with a high lift, without the correct fittings, is dodgey to say the least., and a wheel change at the side of the road with one would be idiotic.
 Pete.

Laughing Potato:
Thanks for the help guys.

I think I'll go for the bottle jack as its intended for the series. I'm not after anything anything flash just to get out of a trouble if I get a flat.

Now to start the hunt for the bottle jack.

Cheers

Range Rover Blues:
Ah, sorry I missunderstood.  At the side of the road you want ot be lifting the axle, so if you can't find your then a Disco bottle jack will be up to the job unless you are loaded right up.

You also find Merc sprinter jacks on flea bay and they have a longer travel.
