What spares would you carry? 1000 mile mac 4x4
spy:
As some of you know, I got a place on the mac 4x4 challenge from the reserve list! I have hardly any time left to prepare anything! I still have no MOT but that should be sorted by monday....
Anyway, the question is what spares should I carry? I am replacing basic ignition stuff when it gets serviced on sunday and planned on keeping old dizzy cap, rotor arm and leads etc as spares just in case (nowt wrong with them at the moment). I will be taking rear wheel cylinders as I have em already.
What should I take? I have done a deal with a local motor factors who will give me a fair ammount of stuff on a sale or return type basis but dont know what to ask for.
What would you take?
Cheers,
Mike
EvilEd:
Based on last year, some stub axles and bearings.... Remember at least two landies where the bearing had welded itself to the stub axle and was a b**** to get off. I think one managed to borrow an angle grinder, but the other in the hotel car park was trailered home. IIRC if you have a spare stub axle, it's a relatively quick job.

We generally don't take that much.
This year the Nanocom will be in the cab with a bag of tools in the back. Other than that it's the obligatory spare bulbs, cable ties, jubilee clips, water, screen wash etc . . . . . .
