Replacing the series handbrake for definate. time for something that actually works! has anyone fitted/heard anything of the x-eng handbrake for series? or do any other vehicles have decent handbrakes that can be made to fit without too much hassle? sure someone has already posted about this but cant find it.

Plenty of comments on the Defender / Disco versions on this thread. Use the search function above for some other comments, although not too much there from Series owners as far as I can see.

I've herd you can bend them, never seen one damaged though so maybe thats speculation. COme to think about it I haven't seen one on a series at all.
I toyed with the idea of getting one myself but in the end gave my drum brake a complete referb as it was so much cheeper - (clean/replace shoes, check ajuster/expander works right and corectly assembled (some aren't, makes it imposable to get them working right!), replace transferbox oil seal, setup and ajust shoes and linkage) Doesn't cost alot and you'll be surprised how well you can make them work! That was well over a year ago, still holds well and I haven't even had to reajust it. They certainly don't have to be crap! They just get that way easilly through a bit of neglect over the years.

iv Splashed out and ordered one! not cheap things but just moved to Devon and surrounded by some very steep hills, also gonna be towing and winching more i want a handbrake i really trust! and being smaller it might not get as much oil from the transfer case on it?!,
will post how it goes!
