<< < (2/3) > >>

karlo:
err 5911 is a drive belt as fitted to 300TDI  :?

Oh dear, It would seem that the model I have is not a very common one

I don't suppose it's possible to replace only the pulley instead of the whole tensioner, or after 100k it'll be getting weak anyway?

karlo:
You can change the bearing on a 300 TDI one which is smooth and the cheapest place i found for the bearing was e bay.

The bearing in the 300Tdi tensioner is made by SKF, and as a reference, the part number is 6203-2RSH. (17MM inside bore  X 40MM outside dia  X 12MM wide)

What's the problem is it squealing?

It's started to make a tell tale whine, also when I changed the cam chain I ran on my fingers and it was rough feeling then.

I don't think the bearing in mine is replacable due to being moulded into the plastic pulley, I tried before on the one on my jeep cherokee.

Range Rover Blues:
I had one of those from a 300 series V8 Disco, non aircon. It's exactly the same as pictured and as far as I remeber the bearing is moulded into the pulley so it can't be swapped.

It does appear to be very uncommon, evry other permutation of 300 series engine had the flat roller on the outside of the belt, but the TDi one is different again to the V8.
