Auto or manual?

The more mods you do, the more likely you are to drop your MPG.

Remember, when you fit the bigger 33's, they will rotate about 611 times per mile compared to the standard 235/70/16's which will rotate about 697 times per mile. So on an identical journey, the bigger tyres will record less miles as your speedo is based on wheel rotation. There is 14% difference.

You can multiply your 280 miles by 1.14 to eliminate this difference. That way you get 319.2 - sounds better already.

My 300tdi auto with 4" lift, 235/85/16 BFG MT, no EGR (etc) has done 21.8mpg (corrected figure) over the past 11375 miles - mainly short trips to work. Minimum tank was was 18.86mpg and maximum tank was was 24.61mpg. Not brilliant but okay for me.

It's about 22/23mpg - it all depends on how much you pay for your fuel!

I use my 300 on a round trip of 70 miles a day, this costs me 12 notes, 60 pounds a week just to work and back, and i'm driving like a granny  :undecided:
