andyhubbard:
Been through some water today in mine on roads that don't usually flood, worst part is i'm out at 4am tonight/morning and will have to take a different route into work

muddyjames:
It is due to be freezing tomorrow morning so with the ground and roads as wet  as they are now it will make seriously interesting driving on what I think will be sheet ice!

Mareng:
We dont usually see much flooding in this part of the world, living and working on a port, any rain water tends to end up in the Solent quite quickly...

at least it used to....

With all the new development of the port recently , new hardstandings and the like, the road the runs past the main gate has become a bit, well, I'll let the pics do the talking..

I saw this Xsara in the water when I went for my lunch, it was still there when I was on my way back to work, so I offered my services, and ended up dragging him out backwards...

Next to need a tug was this white van, his engine was swamped when a lorry went the opposite direction with a bow wave that would have put the boxing day tsunami to shame, was good to see the Rangie Sport driver didn't even hesitate....

And to finish off in style, whilst I was turning around after the Xsara, to go get the white van, this truck (the white one, not the blue one) went the wrong side of the van and promptly dropped off the side of the road...

I didn't think that I would be able to help, but he hooked up the tow strop, and low first saw him pop up back on to the road..

and just a couple of other pics...

Its still raining now, so I expect that the water will get deeper, the deepest I saw it get was about an inch higher than the top of the steps on the rangie, though somehow I've managed to get water in my head lights and the spots on the front...that'll be the bow waves from motors going a little too fast I think...

muddyjames:
WELL DONE THAT MAN  (oops caps lock on)

I think I recognise that fencing from the last time it flooded and seeing clips on the net about it.

Mareng:
I dont think I've ever seen the road that bad in the 6 years I've lived here though....

Its Cracknore Hard Lane, Marchwood, one of two roads that lead into the industrial area  :-k
