speedo reading right speed

(1/1)

mentalmoshio sophs V8i:
whats the easiest way to get the speedo on a 200 series to read correct with 235/85/ 16 tyres on. not look for a quick fix bike computer or gps device or anything like that :?

auf_wiedersehen_pet:
All standard speedos are optimistic - they show a higher indicated speed than the true speed.

Because of the tyre's larger circumference, fitting 235/85/16 tyres reduces the indicated speed. When I tested my 300 Disco speedo (on 235/85/16) against my GPS, the indicated speed had dropped. However, it hd actually dropped by the same amount that it was over reading in the first place.

So, with 235/85/16s fitted, there is no need to change a thing. Don't belive me - borrow a GPS system and check it out.
