front drive noise on vitara

hay all

on my vitara sport when i lock the front hubs i get i sort of grinding noise when 2wd but goes if its in 4wd,4wd works fine when off roading tho

the only way i can say it sounds is as if the 2 cogs are not quite touching so slipping grinding :undecided: :undecided:but will not always do it,some it takes a few miles other time its fine

cvs are ok,no clicking,knocking

id say u have stripped a few teeth on a cog in ur main front diff or shaft only
way to find out is a full strip down
