The switch would be your connection to main beam, don't worry about the warning lamp!

Range Rover Blues:
On mine it's blue/white.  On the back of the headlight, the passenger's side should be balck for earth then IIRC the top one is dipped and the driver's side is main.

If you get stuck mate, you know where I am.....
