3.9 V8 rear rubber dough nut
Budgie:
According to the Land Rover Discovery Parts Manual I have:
There are only two rear propshafts listed;
FRC8387 to VIN LA 081991 and V8 from VA 710669; from VA 51628 To VA 558898 - This is the one with the two U/J's fitted.
FTC3705 from VIN MA 081992 to TA 199999; from TA 700000 to VA 710668; from TA 500000 to VA 541627 - It also gives a note that says this part number is used on the following VIN numbers - Except for V8: VA 710669; from VA 51628 To VA 558898
The bush goes inside the hole in the end of the propshaft. When you take the proshaft off there is a spigot on the flange connected to the diff. This spigot goes into the propshaft & into the bush, this prevents vibration at that end of the propshaft.
The bush part number was STC2932 but it is now included in the Propshaft Coupling Kit STC2794.
Range Rover Blues:
I don't know who told you the gearbox's were different lengths, but that's not true, though I have found the front props to be different length between the V8 and TDi, for some reason.
