range rover alternator output

j.stobart:
Hi all I am selling an alternator from a V8 Range Rover Classic 3.9efi on ebay, and someone has asked if I can confirm whether it has a 90 amp output, I am sure I have read somewhere this is correct would anyone be able to confirm this for me?

Range Rover Blues:
IIRC the standard was a 65 amp unit.  I have an 80 amp on mine that I was told is export spec, it eats Vee blets for lunch so I doubt a single belt would run a 90 amp unit with any success.

The '93 SE had a 100 amp unit fitted with a different blet arrangement, the alternator driven direct from the crank via a flat multi vee belt.

My '94 soft dash has a serpentine belt and 100 amp unit with 4 mounting lugs.

According to the book of confusion (haynes)
Pre '75     34Amp
'75 -  '79      45Amp
'80 - onwards      65Amp

Range Rover Blues:
Yes i tend to forget the early stuf, which would have been the obiquitous Lucas ACR series, easily spotted on sight.
