I've lost my belt!

<< < (2/2)

xmob:
Yeah but (no but).  Sorry.  Little Britain took hold for a minute there.

I also need to remove the coolant/power steering belt to change the alternator belt.  The bolts on the PS pump are rock solid and I can't seem to get in to lever them without removing the shroud.   :?

Wanderer:
Ok Pete didn't realise you had another "issue".
I was changing both belts.
Mine were tight but I managed to get a spanner on and get them moving.
After some persuasion.

Persuasion always scares me on 15 year old bolts.

IME Persuasion = round bolt heads   :D

I've lost count of the cash I've spent on tools to remove stubborn stuff.  Pry bar, nut splitters, angle grinder (obligatory when you own a Land Rover), big calibration tool (hammer), stud extractors blah blah blah...

gords:
OK, so ...

I am replacing the other belt (the bigger one in front of air con belt) as it looks a bit dodgy! and fitting a new air con belt.

I don't need to remove the fan.

I have to put the belts on the right way round (both of them?)

Does that sound right so far :?:

I also need to replace the belt wheel - do these just mount with a bolt through the middle?

It would be nice to order these bits without resorting to LR - maybe I'll "enquire" first
