Turbo queries?
Mr Alford:
firstly will a 300tdi turbo bolt straight onto a 200tdi with any performance gain?
can you get uprated turbos for the 200tdi? if so is it an expensive process
so far i have increased the fuelling on mine and cranked the turbo up to 14psi ish
it still feels pretty flat, im gonna replace the glowplugs at the w-end and smash out the cat saturday give the turbo a little more room to breathe
Disco-Ron:
If it starts well, forget replacing the glow plugs, they only assist with starting it.... nothing else..... uprated turbo's can be got from Allard, and possible alisport, no doubt other places too, i just don;t know or them....
ben_haynes:
No as they operate at different Pressures and the oil pump on the 200 is not man enough for it for the 300 turbo but if you want to try then by all means give it a go i am happy to proved wrong

what could it be thats slugging it down apart from ma monster tyres?
just had a txt from a friend as ive cranked up the turbo hes gonna wind up the fuel pump as well for me and hopefullly the answer is that i have a clogged cat and when i smash it all out my problems will be solved if anyone knows why its so sluggish please let me know or are the 200tdi's renown for being very sluggish? i can rerely get over 70 on the carriageway and it doesnt like revving over 3 thousand revs is this normal?
Disco-Ron:
Doesn't sound normal to me, mine goes quite well on 33's......
i wasn't aware they fitted cats to 200's...!
