<< < (2/5) > >>

martha focker:
ye defo prop, might just be a bolt loosened off, half an hour job, if youv got replacement

Bob696:
Just went and bought 2 UJs as it happens so that will be the first to do on saturday. Hope it gets a bit warmer ... I dont have a garage and my shed is full of land rover spares (should never have bought those 2 LT77s). If that dosnt fix it I will just have to put the 'orrible wheels on and give that a go.

cheers folks

bertie_bas205:
Wheel bearing???

Bertie.

landraver:
Hi Bob (I met you & the kids & Mudclubmatty at the last lro show).
I know you've checked the weights etc on the wheels, but it sounds very much like a wheel balancing problem to me (at that speed). If I were you, I'd either swap the wheels or get them balanced as a first step.

Saffy:

--- Quote from: "muddysteve" ---thats a prop uj without doubt

had exactly the same on mine vibration starts around 55mph and then seems to go away/get drowned out after about 75

the weep weep sort of squeaky noise is where on of the bearing cups has run dry and is partialy seized.
--- End quote ---

I say it the prop too, had same symptoms and even the funky noise at low speed. Does not take much to lay under truck and wiggle the prop and see if a UJ is shot bad enough to vibrate and make noises.
