Well in4 seems to be having some "issues" again trying to start the pig is getting a little boring now to be honest

I know its cold but i have to start at stupid o clock in the morning so why dont she wanna???

for the past 2 weeks the only way to start it first time is to roll it down the drive and bump it which   does cause a "little" smoke well ok a big black cloud and the belts squeel but then all is fine rest of day on the button fires up and away until........ this week so far ive needed to get the damn thing jump started at work as theres no hills lol

battery is only about 1.5 years old starter is only just over a year old everything in the car is off and unplugged where possible so why why why why is in4 causing me the grief lol

i do have some new glow plugs to sling in when i get 5 mins to myself though

what is up with it ?
slow turning over ?
or just wont start from cold ?
200 or 300 ?

My 300 tdi auto can be slow to start first thing (i.e first start of the day)
takes a while to catch.

its had new glow plugs, new battery.

i have checked to see what the alt is putting in to the battery by putting the test meter on the battery,
it puts in 13.80 volts when i rev it, is this right or should it be higher?

sorry for jumping in on the thread, but it might help someone.

look forward to your thoughts.

J13 MUD:
Is the fuel lift pump OK? I had the same issue with my son's Defender a few weeks back, changed the fuel pump and its like a different motor now, starts when you show it the key instead of nearly draining the battery as it did prior to the change.
