Hi ya,

I know that on the classic RR there was a wading plug for the gear box. Is there the same thing neede on the automatic Rover V8 P38?

Thanks

Gareth

hello gareth, i know its abit different but ive got p38 diesel manual and i havent used a wading plug. And a friend of mines got a v8 auto disco and he doesnt need one either. hope this helps a little.

clbarclay:
Get under your P38 and have a look. If it takes a wading plug then there will be a small threaded hole (about 12mm diameter) near the lowest point of the bell housing between the engine and gear box.

I would expect there to be some kind of drain hole in the bell housing. On road cars they tend to just have a small gap in the bell housing where it bolts to the engine in stead of a threaded hole.

ukmudmaster:
you will have e hole for a plug, its 1/4 BSPP, auto,s as well.
Can do  them £1.35 each inc p&p,
Dave
