the least he will need is a head gasket kit and a con rod? the most he will need is a re-bore and a Big end kit and the above? Plus Valves?

tell him to take the cyl head off
if it dont look good
just fit another engine, disco engines are that cheap these days it just isnt worth the hassle
ill happily take his old engine off his hands :lol:

Don't forget if it was upside down the sump oiol would end up in the rocker space, then get blown into the turbo by the breather pipe, then into the engine.

No expert... but can't help thinking it should be pretty easy to figure out an auto cut off switch for this kind of situation.
Petrol, kill the spark and all's well... diesel... I'm not so sure, especially with the whole runaway engine thing.
