Tell you what, hows about you stay quiet until you decide which car you actually own and post a decent pic, posting pics of Thrashers motor and saying its yours DOESNT count (Sorry mods, I wont be told my truck looks ugly by a wannabe)

if i wanted 3ootdi lights i would have bought a 300tdi disco, same if i wanted td5 lights. why buy a car that you originally like only to then spend thousands on cosmetic work that would have been unneccessary if u had bought the car with a look u liked to start off with........
i'm all for adding to the original, but don't knock something just because u don't like the look of it!!!!
and as for not seeing at night, were u aware u were supposed to turn the lights on in order to see where u going???? try it sometime!!!!
rant over........i think......

I'm with you on this one mate, you buy the vehicle you want. If you know about land rovers you generally know what model and spec you want.
I liked the 200 tdi engine and dash layout, I know everything else will be replced at some stage, seats bumpers etc, and the lights actually suit the vehicle. They are good enough for the road, and if your off piste so to speak you always have the auxillary lights we all fit.
It's about preferance not style or looking update. I used to have a volvo 240 rally/drift car. It looked old but by jebus that thing went, and the paint kob was 'a bit' loud 8)
Disco Matt:
My thoughts exactly - this is one reason why I'm not fitting clear indicator lenses to mine (the others being that while you can get front and side ones I've yet to see replacements for the rear ones, and besides which that sort of money could better be spent on a detachable towbar!).
I have seen some replacement light units and grilles for the Disco 1 that looked not unlike those on the new-shape Range Rover. They don't really suit the Disco to my mind as they're from a different era in styling terms, and the styling just didn't match - rather like putting Disco headlights on a Series 3.
Just my opinions - if you've done this and like the looks of it I'm not having a go. The beauty of these vehicles is that you can do so much to them with just a set of spanners and a handy parts supplier.
