safari roof rack
Be carefull not to overload it....
i will be fitting spot lights on the roof rack
do you really need them?
waffle boards
good idea, if you are hitting mud/rocks/sand
2 spare tyres
Would only take 1 on a rim, there is a tyre fitting place in every town
tent or one of those pop up roof tents
Roof tent is good, but at £500 upwards is not cheap...
water cannisters
Good idea
3 20 litre jerry cans
are you really going to be that far from civilisation in portugal, I took a jerry can to morocco last summer, and only used it once...
power inverter
Good idea, saves buying 12V chargers for everything
full tool kit
Good idea, but you'll be surprised how few tools you can get away with, don't take multiple sets of spanners etc...
tow rope
yep, and a few good quality, rated shackles
ill have a winch in the new year
Do you really need a winch? its £500 and probably 60KG on your front bumper... i'd rather spend it on a turfor, and a fridge...
ill pick up a turfer winch and a land anchor
Turfer is a good idea, you can usually improvise a ground anchor for emergency use, unless you are going to be regularly getting stuck...
what else would anyone suggest i know im missing loads
first aid kit
decent mapping and navigation
fire extinguishers x2
folding camping chairs
decent portable 12v compressor
basic spare parts kit (wheel bearing, prop UJ etc)
top up fluids (engine oil, gear oil, ATF)
couple of good torches
spade
