For gods sake guys, things go wrong, people get hurt, some die, sometimes things dont go wrong and all is good. I like speed and power as many more of us do, Ive rolled my truck at a time I never expected it to roll, one of our club members rolled doing something innocuous with his family in the back.
To make everything safe is to stop doing everything, Its all a calculated risk.

Just sometimes the sums struggle to add up....

having known a bloke who lost the mother of his son - his ex wife, and her pregnant friend, who were stood at a bus stop on xmas eve a couple of years back, when a drunk in a nova lost control and struck them, i have very strict views on the subject. Im sure most of us at some point have done something naughty in a car, i myself had 9 points for driving on the "exciting" side of the speed limit... but really, looking at the articles you have to ask - is it worth it..

no-one intends to use a roll cage, and if one is fitted, you have to consider do you want to trust a tried and tested specifficlly made item, or do you want to save a few quid, and hope you got it right?

personally i have had a lot of experience with structures, welding, and steelwork, but i wouldnt consider a home made job if i was taking part in the type of events that needed one...

just this afternoon i ended up in a ditch, not from speed, but from mis-interpreting road conditions... i had to pull over to remove the front grill cover, pulled over to one side, and immediatley found the bottom of the ditch! wet snow on the road, and soggy ground at the side left me in an awkward position, and its times like this you always think "why did i do that?"

take care everyone.
