Britpart tolerances...or me being dumb?
Range Rover Blues:
Been there, sworn at that, thrown it accross the driveway in my temper. It's no coincidene that there is a britpart wiper seal retainer hammered into the tarmac on my driveway
They are shocking, I've tried using Delphi parts too but now I just think sod it, for £65 a calliper I'll buy new ones and stay sane.
freeagent:
I've found Britpart stuff to be genarally crap...
I had a waterpump which lasted 11 days, and wheel bearing seals that wouldn't even go in..
My advice is don't buy anything that pumps, rotates, seals or is mission-critical from Britpart, it WILL let you down..
Try Bearmach (never had a grief with their stuff)
Iain C:
Hmmm, so having BP discs, caliper pistons, seals, and four roadsprings might be bad then? :?
Range Rover Blues:
Yeap. I avoid the cheaper and unbranded disks if I can, they warp in next to no time, I reckon the castings are duff and as soon as you take the surface off the disk patches of it become porous or soft so the disk wears unevenly, causing judder as if it's warped.
