vm glow plugs
way2deep:
i am thinking of putting new glow plugs in my 2.4 vm diesel.it's looks real tight on cyl 1+2 do they come out past the pump or does that have to come off first... :(
Bobtail:
hi
i have just changed mine
i've got a 1990 2.5 but same as yours, yes you can change them
without taking off the pump, the hard and fiddly bit is getting
the b%££dy 8mm nuts for the power lead back on again, took me
half hour to change plugs and two hours to get the nuts backs
on again, on the front two :D
good luck and try not too swear too much trying to find the 8mm
nuts after dropping them for the ?????? time
way2deep:
i know how you feel mate have taken them off,too right very fiddly.i am not looking forward to putting new ones back in.think i will put a big sheet under motor put catch them 8mm nuts.number 1+2 look sods to get back on. :(
Bobtail:
good luck mate you are going to need it :D :D
it just takes patience( :D yeah right)
and try not to damage the motor too much
after your tenth time of scrabbling under the
motor to find the b"£"£y nuts and becareful
as they can get stuck behind the pump
way2deep:
oh lordy,i put my glow plugs in today and did not drop one of those 8 mm nuts..... :D :D
