My Landy is sold...

V8MoneyPit:
The 110 V8 is now residing in deepest Cornwall... right next to Land's End. A bit sad to see it go. It's been fun to own for the last 5 years. It seems very strange watching someone else drive off in 'your' vehicle, doesn't it?

The new owner seems to love the engine noise.... those who know me will understand. It was just a tad loud

He sent me a picture of it at it's new home this morning

But to make up for it, I'm now into gear with the 90 project  :D Ordered the galvanised chassis from Richards. And a few more suspension bits so I have most of what I need to build up the rolling chassis which is due first week of January  8)

So more fun in the new year !

Mutz:
2.5 td moneypit  doesnt quite have the same ring to it does it??

So ordered and due 1st week?

Youll soon get over the v8 once you start pulling the 90 to bits, and finding other things wrong you hadnt noticed before (i speak from experience here)
But a sad day anyway Steve.

V8MoneyPit:
I'm not exactly 'rebuilding' the 90. I'm starting from the new chassis and building up from there. Only a relatively small percentage of the 90 will be used!

So far, none of the suspension is being used. Both gearbox and transfer box are being replaced, rear axle is being rebuilt (possibly with locker), bulkhead will be rebuilt, new front wings, drivers door.......

I will be using the engine for now, although a 200tdi is on the cards in the future. Also, interior, rear tub and roof. The passenger door and rear door are OK too. Front axle seems OK, so might leave that alone apart from a clean and paint. That's about it!

So, what are the odds of it being finished by April (my original deadline)?!

Mutz:
April deadline

have you started stripping the 90?

Your making me feel better about mine all the time.

Err, no!! Got to clear up the workshop first. Hopefully tomorrow. Then the 90 will be stripped. Doesn't take long to take them apart, 3 or 4 days ..... it's the putting back together that takes the time
