stuvy:
so, would it be an almost trayback?

i must admit it does sound very interesting and the temptation to get the grinder out is really appealing, must fight the temptation!

Good luck and keep us posted with pics and stories!

I'm sure you will have no trouble doing a better job that that lot.

Convertible...... Yeah Do It :)

Heres my first one :)

Original one off roof....

originally kept the door tops but got rid soon after...

I eventually got a 90 canvas as this was the perfect size although the front needed work to fit in with the curved screen, loads more fun than having a roof..... :)

Cheers Steve

Nice one Steve  8) Any prob's with the doors flapping about in the wind before you took the tops off mate ???? Oh and the rear panel's ? I'm just thinking that cos they are only aluminium will I need to strengthen them to stop them flapping about ? I dont want to lower the rear tailgate and my rear wings open up like a terry's choclate orange

Quick update while I'm here. Flew through the mot    Head gasket's being done as we speak    THEN IT'S COMMENCE OPERATION 5 DOOR LWB SOFT TOP !!!!

electricbluebadger:
Door tops are built very solid so no movement at all, I removed em cos i wanted a more open open top, the rear panels are bolted to the inner steel arches in the same way as if the roof was still there, the lower rear panels dont really gain any lateral strength from the roof as such, almost all the strength is from the inner steel carcass which is more than up to the job.

Cheers Steve
