That idea might get through the test, but don't forget that the seat belt is mounted to the seat.  I'd prefer to know that if I had a shunt, I wouldn't be accompanied by the seat as I sailed through the windscreen (although it might hurt less if it wasn't there!)

The moter didnt need to lift the carpet he could see the interior light from under neath the car  :(biglaugh):

lucky I have a spare range rover for breaking which is going to have a large lump cut out of it(the only bit that isnt rotten) to graft into my rangie

Range Rover Blues:
The inportant bit re the seatbelt is that the seat box is welded through the floor to the inner sill.

Decided that the sill is not repairable as even the body mounts are crust and there isnt enough good metal to cut back to. Luckily I have a rangie that I am breaking so i cut a large piece of metal out which is now being cleaned up and some minor repair before being grafted in to Rusty(as I have now christened him)
