I've also removed the rear seats from my Discovery. All I have done is strap a big metal box in the back using the old seat belt mounts.

I've got a sheet of 3/4" ply and no rear seats. had a sofabed in the back last week. loads of space.

i have removed the rear seats and all my interior including the roof lining, sealed the alpine windows and its the best thing i ever did, i cut out the rear seatbelt mounts and welded a plate in instead and flew through the mot no probs :lol:

I presume to do this we need to:

a) tell the insurance company
b) tell the DVLA?  Its gone from a 7 seater to a 2 seater, if this is on the V5 I presume they'd need to be insured

i did neither of them, as long as u dont take ur old mot certificate to get ur new mot just say uve lost it, u shud be fine thats what i did i said its been a 2 seater ever since ive had it
