BS3143:
Hi all.
This morning (Freezing cold) my defender alarm would not unset. Its a 2000 model year 110 CSW. No central locking. Never hand any history of faults before, had her from new, handset battery changed every "c" service, 24000 miles. Will not unlock or lock. Tried the spare set of keys and that fob was defective also. I know that opening the door with the key will set off the alarm. Might have to result to trying to input the EKA code with the drivers key to shut up the alarm and get her started. Any ideas??? Hope so because the wifes Ford Focus is C--p.  :(

Porny:
Has your 110 got an addtional battery back up siren??

If not, very easy to prevent the siren from sounding when you open the door to use the EKA code.  I won't post on here how to though (but isn't hard!!)

No reason why the weather should stop it working?? - unless the 10AS alarm unit was wet due a leak on your bulkhead and its frozen.

Have you tried later today to see if it's fixed itself???

BS3143:
Hi chaps,

Got home and tried both handsets again, no joy. Then i pressed the open button four or five times in quick succession and it unset. Did the same with the other handset and that worked too. Now they both set and unset with just the one press and at some distance. Normal three indicator flashes on set and one long on unset with interior light function. Strange, they both seemed to have lost synchronisation with the alarm unit. Will have to see if it becomes a regular event. So in true railwayman fashion, NFF, No Fault Found. Thanks for the advice given.
