? I bought a nice new Lucas Dissy Cap (DDB107, STC8368G) from my local independent supplier on Friday so they are still about and easy to get hold of (not cheap though). There are no distinguishing marks on the cap its self, except the bright green box it came in.
Range Rover Blues:
Proper ones did have a mark on them. Just because it comes from the dealer it's no guarantee I'm afraid, I bought one from my local and it's exactly the saem as the Halfrauds one.
BTW, anyone know why the later 3.9 and 4.2 engines had a different dizzy cap? Early ones are blue and later ones are black from what I've seen, though I don't know if the colour is a coincidence.
disco-v8:
i wouldnt say that the early ones where blue and later black....
its more like the cheap replica ones are blue, and the lucas and some better quality replicas are black
Range Rover Blues:
Ok I'd go with that, but what's the difference in the 4.2 cap? might explain why mine runs so bad when I swap the cap.
