Your right as specially if no one else has used this sort of bait for a while, its good dipped in Marmite or other of the shelf dips.
Anything too out wit the weary carp works well.
My favourate bait was Active 8 boillies home made mixed with fishmeal additives and stimulants, i had good catches everytime i used them. :D
