oh by the way i doubt its just ur viscous as well read this post i had the same problem

Unless you do heavy towing just chuck the old fan and do not replace it, you will not miss it. If you do tow replace with an electric fan mine has only needed to come on two or three times in the 6 years since I fitted it.
