Mr team, indeed mebizzle. Next fella, no idea. got to be worth a go eh? Mr . Team, if this idea proves the component to be faulty then ill happily spend the money on a new unit. I would just like to confirm what is wrong, money is tight, as usual. Just to know it is not engine related would make me a happy boy. Mr. Team, I was not doubting your skills, but with so many opinions flying about I would feel foolish to spend money on the say so of one. Hope no offence was caused as I do appreciate the input of all.  I was only mentioning TDC as that was what mr haynes suggested. Booyakashah and stuff

Thanks all for the advice. Pretty much all of it was correct. Vacuum pump, stuffed. Valve stem caps missing, yup, ive only found one. Quite scared where the other may be. Rocker securing stud stripped of thread, rocker shaft snapped. Power steering pump stuffed, pulley has 1/2" play, aux belt shredded. And smashed into a red deer on the way home when last drove it. Happy times.
Damn Landrovers.
