Dose that mean it's like ear defenders at work they are there but you don't have to use them. It's the fact that you have offered them .

It would be illegal to keep and use a baseball bat on any intruder. However, it would be OK to use a bedside lamp in the bedroom, a poker in the living room, and a saucepan in the kitchen. An axe in the garden shed might be a different thing .  :roll:
