Leaking top hose

(1/2) > >>

Yoshi:
It was fine before the cambelt was done, now it wont stop leaking from the top hose, just tried sealing it with PTFE tape and it still drips, even when motionless with the engine switched off.

peasey:
have you tried removing it and giving the top rad tube a real good seing to with a wire brush and then inspect the hose for splits or holes then put it back on with two jubilee clips i have seen silicon used to seal them but i personally wouldnt use that as the water does get very hot.ptfe is fine in my opinion but i would clean that top tube real well

Sharpshooter:
Try repositioning the hose clip. Either forward or backward. Im assuming the clip is in good condition?

beast5680:
i had that with mine when the cambelt was done the hose clip was the original and was not holding as tight as it could so i renewed it and it stopped leaking, all it wanted was to be a bit tighter

lurch_917:
remove the hose and check for splits by rolling it in a oval shape as some splits only show as the pipe gets some strees also do all the above mentiond or get a new pipe my freind
