SJ High Steer?

(1/2) > >>

BaldMoFo:
Just bought a new SJ 413 and it has already been SPOA'd. This has left the steering somewhat vauge and also with quite a lot of play on the steering arm.

Been looking at steering upgrade kits like hi-steer etc but can only find them for sale in the states. Anyone got any suggestions or know where I can get a steering kit that will sort this? Need to drive this on the road as well as off roading hence need to improve the steering.

Thanks in advance.

Try ringing Rob Storr RS Engineering,he does them, dont email it takes him months to reply.

Alternatively if you you have a bit of mechanical skill you could try the Steering pivot arm from a W126 S Class Merc. There are write ups on Difflock.com and Suzukiclubuk on how to do it.

hi,you can buy a suzuki mod cd on ebay for 2 quid +2 quid p&p it shows you how to make your own ,it took me a saturday morning .

Whilst i am all in favour of DIY the MOT man can take a bit of dim view of welded steering components.Thats why i am in favour of the Merc steering arm mod it looks almost stock and needs a minimum amount of work to fit and the merc arm can be had for £20.

There is some info at the bottom of this thread which might help.
