Range Rover Blues:
I've had a pair of these for a year now and not got round to fitting them

well i can 100% confirm that is NOT a old wives tale about fitting HD steerings means you can do without your damper.
i had mine fitted to day and its as smooth as anything without the damper on. no kicking with bumps etc.
Range Rover Blues:
What tyres have you got on?
Any lift? what are your swivles like?
All these things will effect bump-steer and wheel shimmy, I know people who don't have steering dampers on failry standard cars. I know other cars that need H/D steering dampers, mine included.
That said the roads round here are shocking and that's probably a big part of it.
Anyway, does it drive any nicer with the damper removed?

this v8 disco is new to me. at the moment she is running 235/85/16 bfg at's but will soo move over to the same size mud tyres.
the roads around here are not much different to anywhere else....i did try a few roads today that would make any truck bounce and kick and it was smooth. if im honest there is no noticable difference between with or without the damper which in my eyes is te best possile result..... just one less thing to break again
Range Rover Blues:
Cool, might try to sumon the energy to fit mine then. I fitted a Defender damper and I get a wheel shake on RH turns from the RH wheel, annoying but not severe. At one point I refitted the RR one as well
