How long does your TDi take to heat up?
Mr Alford:
sometimes when its cold it can take 20 mins but on the motorway since ive had massive tyres it can get quite warm if i keep it on boost alot is there a problem, it runs well power never changes
Ja1983:
difficult to say as i dont have a heater blower that fulfils its purpose at the moment....
although i pull off the end of the street, and into a 60zone, and then turn off 5 miles later and a min later i`m in works carpark, its ust started to trickle through (almost to half way). recent weather has ment i get up, go out, start it, get some wood, light the fire inside, make my breakfast (bacon egg butty!) then see if the ice on the inside of the windscreen has begun to thaw....
NOTE: B&Q value de-icer is as good as breathing across your winscreen, whilst stood behind the vehicle!
....holts stuff rom nice warm indoors worked much better.
i recon urine would be very good for two reasons - its warm, and its salty!
although the neighbours would probly not be best pleased to see you stood on your bonnet leaking on your windscreen first thing in a cold morning.... i would also consider that the "source" of this bio-deicer wouldnt take too kindly to a high level of exposure on the aforementioned frosty morn...
anyway, i`m rambling again, sorry
Mr Alford:
i am a firm believer i just plain and simple luke warm water always works and never cracks the glass and even if it did that was rac auto windscreen cover is for
i dont believe in standing around for 20 minutes de-icing when u can fill a 2 litre bottle of coke and do it in 30 seconds
