Rear Door Arch Repair Panels

mentalmoshio sophs V8i:
think replacement arch is 25 quid

Chris Putt:
Its probably worth getting a plate welded in on the underside of it, then using a bodywork filler and some time and effort (I hate that phrase Im too bloody impatient) then filling over the plate and spraying carefully. I did something similar with the leading edge of the bottom of my OSR arch, luckilt mine is black so i just hammerited over it once it looked reasonable!

Chris

denviks:
you might want to have a dig around underneath   , the rot tends to sit under that rear pillar there. not long done a path on a 300 the same.... .....40 mins with a welder and 3 patches and it was done

mentalmoshio sophs V8i:
before welding patches here there and everywhere , i would check on how m.o..t s stand today filler would be a not be a good idea . wheel arch on cars can only be welded so many times. replacement panel will be a better way foward.

Chris Putt:
the welded patch is the structural part- the filler is merely cosmetic. that will not effect the MOT if it is cosmetic, and if the patch is done properly.

AS said above- have a good dig about and see how bad it is and were else is going/gone...
