Freelander TD4 - Economy
tinca:
well if it's the new one, we had an auto for a few weeks while ours was in the garage, did the same trip as in my previous post ( north devon to peterborough) and managed a measily 29.7 mpg according to the computer. that was with no bikes, no roof box and about half as much stuff in the car
G30RGE:
Mines a 2006 'old' td4
I had a FL2 TD4 auto for a few weeks and it cost me a fortune in fuel - then LR dealer sold it so gave me a TDV6 LR3  it was even worse

G3ORGE we used to run (until a couple of weeks ago) a 52 plate Td4. On a run, you could get into the "high 30's" in terms of mpg, however, just shrot journeys (which it mostly did) we averaged 30-31mg, which for the type of driving conditions, I still think is pretty good. There were also actuals, not some trip computer or guesses. Used to calculate by using mileage between full fill-ups and using 4.545 litres per gallon to convert.
Just replaced it with a new FL2 TD4 2.2 manual - will be keeping an eye on it over coming months, particularly as diesels enconomy always seems to improve with a few 1000 clicks on the counter.

lol i thought it was around the 40mpg mark !!! im looking at getting rapeseed oil bio diesel !!
Llanigraham:
On my 50 mile journey to work, on typical Welsh cross country poor A roads, and by not exceeding 2000 revs (about 53mph) I am getting just over 40 mpg.
