Hay guys im think of getting a 1993 2.5td Pajero... What is the normal problems on these motors? Are they is to get lift kits for etc? what kind of suspension setup do they have etc? and where do i got to get offroad parts? what kind of mpg can i expect.. more or than my 300tdi disco and how much diff
Soz for all the question but been 4x4 with landys for ages and feel that with all my landy bad luck its time for a change

hi Oz
The 2.5 is very capable, albeit a bit slow, but capable. you need to watch out for the belts, ensure they are changed, as they can have a tendancy if not looked after to snap. They run great on veg with no mods, SWB are more econmical mid to high 20's mpg, Lwb's low 20's to mid 20's mpg. The 2.8 can suffer from pump seal problems, but the motor is chain driven and you dont have the bother with the belts. slightly more uneconomical, but again can run on veg, but not to the degree of the 2.5 (less of a ratio)
3.5 petrols are proving popular at the mo plently of power, quite , refined, and equals the diesels on mpg and slightly cheaper to run, you can also go down the lpg route.
As for mods, you can now get suspension lifts, body lifts, bumpers fabricated sliders, etc.. it getting better.

yes mate, if not better, couple of years ago it was diesel all the way, but petrols are equally better if not better on mpg and you get a better ride. as for water pretty good too, snorkles are available so go and get yourself one
