Waterproofing New Spotlights

(1/1)

Colin 009:
Hi All, can anyone suggest a product that I can use to seal the lights.(waterproof)

Idealy something thats is flexi-able.

Also will need to connect wires, so are there any waterproof male/female connectors out there.

hobbit:
First thing to spring to mind would be silicon sealant

run a bead round the rim and push together, as for water proof wiring connectorshttp  http//www.vehicleproducts.co.uk do a good selection, but what could be better is to run a continous wires from the inside of the lamp high into the vehicle before having any connectors

Heat shrink is a good method of sealing the actual connectors when made up, put some silicon in the sleaving before shrinking it would do the job

Colin 009:
Thanks Kev.

Range Rover Blues:
I'd use silicon as well 'cos it will withstand the heat, but bear in mind that the lamps need to breath as the air inside heats up.  I prefer to just wash mine out afterwards, if you seal them and the tinyest bit of water gets in it will never get out again.

Colin 009:
Thanks, hadn't thought about breathing lights.
