Anybody here attempted sump removal on DII????

No, but if it's anything like my V8, it's a dozen bolts.

BTW...

http://www.mansfieldmotorsltd.co.uk/shop/en/browse/Discovery+II/13/0/9/31/522/2784

That's a V8 sump gasket I believe...  15 quid.

POTASH:
if its same as a200tdi ,its just a case of removing the bolts,[ after youve drained oil]

Wanderer:
I suppose we stated the obvious, that you were being ripped off at £50 for a bit of cork.

Sorry
It should be a competent DIYer job following procedure and tightening the bolts back up in the right way and order.
It is possible to twist parts of the sump when replacing it.

If its a V8 it should be a doddle cos i did the big end bearings & main bearings in place on the racer (severe lack of oil pressure) & its easy enough to do in place,if its a td5 I dunno how difficult it is but i will have a look at the 1 at my work on the ramp on wed,

BRO:
Thanks guys...

I've just checked in the RAVE docs and it doesn't seem too difficult at all :D

And £15.50 for the gasket from mansfield... can't go wrong

I take it all back - you guys are the greatest  8)  Long live Mud-Club

Cheers

Mick :D
