The way I view scaffold is that it'll do for non structural components or reinforcement of a larger structure, but I'd never rely on it for a serious roll cage.

Unless you seriously over engineer it, which is probably cost effective with scaffold if you're not worried about weight.  But then you'd have to buy a Land Rover chassis...
