i found it bolted to my bulkhead in the Cab! just wondered if i need to include it into my wiring???

Yes

 it s an electronic ignition module, used in conjunction with the Distributor

The dizzy has an optronic unit rather than points in them, if that is all you have I presume its now defunct

Been trying to get mine working the other week got fed up of looking at it, and went back to the points
