On my rally car I have a driving light on a relay operated from the reversing light circuit.  The driving light has a reflector like a headlight in it, and it has always passed MOTs.  When you say should not have a reflector in it, what do you mean?

Cheers

It's not an MOT issue, so it won't fail. It's not an MOT requirement to even have a reversing light.

It's a 'use and construction' issue. So, in reality, it will never be a problem. But technically, it should not have a parabolic reflector to produce a 'beam'. At least, that's the way I understand it.

Thanks for that V8Moneypit.  If it's construction and use stuff the rally car has so many other things they could pick up on before they worried about the reversing light  :D  :D  :D

Quite easy to fit twin reversing lights.
Theres a feed on the drivers side for a reversing light so a few quid on ebay for an extra reversing light and half an hours work produces this
