Had a ride in a T16 while I worked at Lotus.... unbelieveably quick car :shock: And it was only a Clubman spec..... a mere 400 BHP IIRC! Didn't get to drive it though.... funny, they wouldn't let me!

Working for Lotus Engineering did have it's bonuses and subsequently working in the classic car industry, you get to meet some very nice (and generous!) people. Had the loan of an original Lotus Elan Sprint for a couple of weeks...... broke down at least 3 times, but it was huge fun while it was going :lol:
The T16 was an active technology test bed. So it was running active suspension, brakes, 4 wheel steering and torque split. The whole thing was basically drive by wire. There was absolutely no loss of traction off the line regardless of how agressively you accelerated, so you can imagine how quick it was :twisted:
